What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic wellness practice originating in India. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit works ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus translating to the science of life.
Internal Purification
Ayurveda encourages making certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain balance in mind, body, spirit and the natural world. The natural therapies and lifestyle interventions include:
Special Diet
Yoga
Ayurveda observes how the five elements of fire, water, earth, air and ether affect us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Ayurvedic health is based on the balance of these elements through something called Doshas. The doshas are a combination of these elements and each of us has our own unique ratio of each dosha. Your unique ratio of doshas defines your Ayurvedic constitution and by determining your dosha composition, you begin your journey to finding true balance in mind, body, spirit and nature.
